I have extensive experience in litigation and arbitration obtained in over 30 years of acting in thousands of disputes. I have had lead roles in bargaining major collective agreements, advising and representing unions and some employers, doing human rights cases, arguing cases in dozens of administrative tribunals, and presenting cases at all levels of courts in British Columbia and at the Supreme Court of Canada.

I have a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Victoria obtained in 1987. After graduating from law school, I acted as law clerk to a Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, worked in a scholarship role in international law at a major law firm in London, England, was an associate at Swinton & Company, in-house counsel at the British Columbia Teachers' Federation, partner at Noonan Hewson Law Office in Vernon, BC, and in-house counsel for the Health Sciences Association of British Columbia. The vast majority of my experience is in labour and employment law, but I also gained experience in general litigation and criminal law over the years.
